So somebody just asked about Sterek courtship fics and suddenly I thought, “What if Werewolves were like Mormons?”

everything always comes back to werewolves and mormons

If that story doesn’t end with everyone getting their own house on the moon after they die, i will be severly dissapointed.

Obv everyone gets THEIR OWN MOON. If regular Mormons can give everyone a planet, werewolf Mormons can give away moons.

Gonna be honest, now all I can think about is someone rewriting that fic where Mormons are like Gremlins and you can’t get them wet when they’re sleeping. And now I’m imagining a hidden desert colony of miniature Stileses and Dereks.

Someone please do this.

And for some reason it wouldn’t recognise that there were 2 faces in the picture

So we tried it from a different angle and

I was really confused and kind of offended at what it’d done to my face

Dreams- Fleetwood Mac (Cover)

gibson-girls-and-moonbeams:

My cover of the classic song, Dreams. I did it in the style of Stevie’s piano demo (my favorite version), let me know what you think! If you’d like to hear a much more stellar version with full-on guitar, please check out my band page: Soundcloud.com/winterlong-music !

Holy shit, I love this.

I hate to be the person who posts about her food, but I’m gonna be, just this once.

Last week, in an effort to change the way I eat, I signed up for a food delivery service that delivers fresh, organic, local produce to my door every Saturday. Yesterday was my first delivery, and I kind of feel like this was one of my best decisions ever.

I just made the most delicious dinner. I sauteed some beet greens with garlic and shallots, and mixed that with quinoa, toasted pine nuts, and dried cherries. I baked a sweet potato, and had half of it mashed with goat cheese and strawberries I roasted with balsamic vinegar. And, for the most boring part of the dish, I had a plain old chicken breast, cooked via this method, which has never failed me. I’ve also packed a lunch for tomorrow of the same thing, along with the fixings for a small spinach salad.

And I’m about to prep stuff for a morning green monster smoothie (sub Granny Smith apple for the banana, because [Kylie fact:] I absolutely under no circumstances do banana).

So I’m pretty proud of myself.

All of y’all are invited to come over to my house so I can cook for you, by the way.

Would it be ridiculous if I really wanted to reblog a post from like a month ago that I found in the Lindsey Buckingham tag just so that I can argue with the OP’s assertion that Tusk is the comparatively worst Stevie-and-Lindsey-era Fleetwood Mac album?

Because I really, really want to. I mean, come on, that is patently false!

“Brideshead Revisited is the most elaborate bait-and-switch in all of literary history: it lures you into thinking that it’s going to be this sunlit romp through aestheticism and ~young love~ and the groves of academe, only to leave you bruised and betrayed, watching as everybody grows up and succumbs to loneliness, mediocrity, alcoholism, emotional collapse, and all-consuming regret.” — the wonderful Texts From Brideshead tumblr, which everyone everywhere should follow and adore. #you don't even know how much i love this book

gaypocalypse:

the phrase “assimilation ≠ liberation” is reasonable enough in a vacuum. but what does it mean when you put “assimilation ≠ liberation” on a glitter background and post it on tumblr in the “queers” and “femmes” tags? what are you saying and to whom?

if you feel the need to do that it is probably because you think that some lgbt people are engaging in “assimilation” by acting or thinking in ways you don’t approve of, and that they need to be told, by you, that those things are counterproductive to their liberation. what does “assimilation” look like? here are some practices commonly criticized by self-described “radical queers” as “assimilationist”:

  • being monogamous
  • wanting to marry or otherwise formally commit to a monogamous partner and gain legal protections for such a partnership
  • wanting to have children within the context of such a partnership
  • presenting in a masculine way, especially as a woman, despite significant social pressure not to from straight society
  • wanting to be seen as normal and good by society
  • otherwise having ordinary hopes and expectations for yourself and your life, rather than overhauling those hopes and expectations in favor of a countercultural, “queer” lifestyle simply because you are lgbt

so to these people, or to whichever people the word “assimilationist” conjures in your head, you say: “those things won’t liberate you, you know!”

is that really a respectful way to treat a member of your community who has not wronged you?

does it occur to you that people might do those things because they feel authentically right for them, not out of some politically impure desire to assimilate? do you realize that deliberately divesting themselves of these things for the sake of anti-assimilation will also not liberate them? can you see that holding lgbt people to a special set of expectations specifically because they are lgbt is actually a form of homo- and transphobia in and of itself?

glitter is not liberation, either.

The only reason I think maybe Hannibal wouldn’t go for that is that I know some animal bones make a godawful reek when you boil them for stock, and human bones might be among them (like, I don’t know about pork, but I know beef bones can stink). Then again, he might like that particular bad smell.

I, of course, have a related anecdote about my time in the anarchist commune.   Megan wanted to make art out of the bones of a dog she found by the railroad tracks.   The smell of boiling bones was so bad is eclipsed the existing smells of rotting produce, chicken shit and punk boy that typically filled the house.  This is some kind of a life lesson.

There is very little I love more than your anecdotes about your time in the anarchist commune.

Help needed: funeral expenses and moving costs → indiegogo.com

autumnyte:

(TW: Domestic Violence)

I’ve never made a post like this before. But I’ve seen the tumblr community do amazing things, and I’m hoping you can help.

My friend, Georgina, had a 30-year-old sister named Penelope who was killed on May 9th as a result of domestic violence. Penelope had three beautiful girls, all under the age of 8, who are now left without a mother and with a father on the run.

image

The plan is for the girls to be placed in the custody of their grandparents, but the family is in desperate need of funds to make this happen. Friends are coordinating a fundraiser to cover the funeral expenses and moving/ongoing transportation costs. The goal is $20,000, and if anything is raised beyond that, it will go toward the substantial expense of rearing three young girls.

Any amount you are able to contribute would be a big help to these little girls and this woman’s stunned, grieving family.

If you aren’t able to donate, please consider a signal boost. Thank you.

21 Day Sugar Detox

devildoll:

(Talk about food and weight loss and other dietary stuff here. I tagged this post as “diet” even though I don’t consider this a diet—it seemed the most fitting.)

I’ve wanted to do a sugar detox for a long time, because I felt my sugar consumption was a little higher than I’d like, plus I just enjoy playing with my diet and seeing what benefits come from adding or removing foods. I stopped eating wheat and other grains a couple years ago and the results were dramatic and very positive. So this was the next step in my ongoing dietary tinkering.

I’d been contemplating a detox for about a year or so, but wasn’t sure I could stick to it, so I had to sort of warm up to the idea for a while first. By which I mean I was just a chickenshit. And when I decided to go for it, I scheduled it specifically to start after both Easter and a trip to visit family, so I wouldn’t be tempted to fall off the wagon by delicious family meals full of foods I wasn’t supposed to eat.

This was super-informative, thank you so much! I would love to, at some point, hear your experiences with going grain-free. I’ve known for a long time that I need to change the way I eat, but it’s intimidating and I’m finding out just how many food-related issues and mental blocks I actually have, haha. :/

“So you don’t want to be my wife, my girlfriend, but you want me to do all that magic stuff on your songs. Is there anything else that you want, just, like, in my spare time?” —

Lindsey Buckingham is such an incredible asshole, and I seriously cannot get enough of it.
